Toronto Fashion Week – wednesday’s details

Compared to Day 1, coming to David Pecaut Square on Wednesday was like a movie (well, almost). I got there a little bit early, and just got attacked by street style photographers. Granted, I did go a little more “full out” this time around, as Day 3 showcased some of the week’s biggest shows: Narces, Pink Tartan, and Mackage.

I was attending Pink Tartan, and boy was that a treat! From business wear to casual, Kimberely Newport-Mimran did not disappoint with her SS16 Collection for the brand. The looks were fun, carefree, organized, sexy, and made me feel like dancing in the streets of Barcelona. Colour-combinations like orange, blue, and white played together to give the show a very Español feel.

As usual, aside from the real runway, the streets surrounding the Fashion Week venue were packed with people strutting their own stuff, and a lineup of photographers running after them. If you ever had the desire to feel like a celebrity, definitely dress up and just walk outside any given Fashion Week location. It was a very different feeling and atmosphere from Monday night, with much more excitement.

I’ll be honest, walking out of my house, walking through the parking garage of a corporate building not far from David Pecaut Square, I did start to feel a little out-of-place. But as soon as I got to the square, it was like I entered a different world. Everyone was showing off their best colours.

It was great to spend some time with friends, meet new ones, and get inspired by beautiful designs. All the booths inside had something to show, and even something to share, from illustrations to samples.

Definitely looking forward to the next WMCFW in March, and hoping it won’t interfere with midterms so I can take advantage to attend the full week!
