Every woman has a beauty routine, and each routine is unique. In case you’re just getting started in figuring out your beauty routine, or looking to add or change something, I’m here to share my day-to-day face care routine. Hopefully you’ll find this helpful to figure out what’s missing in your day-to-day skincare regime.
I have to say, I’m relatively basic and minimalistic when it comes to taking care of my skin. I only recently really started caring about taking care of my face, and month by month started to add steps to my skincare routine.
I don’t do this everyday, but sometimes after taking my makeup off I like to give myself a pre-shower detox mask. I’ve used this Caudalie Instant Detox Mask that I got when I bought a really valuable Caudalie set.
Once in the shower and the mask is rinsed off, I swear by the high efficiency face cleanser from Deciem. I never skip using this when I’m in the shower, and have been loyal to the product for over half a year.
Studies say we should be exfoliating our faces every 3-4 days, something I only recently added to my beauty routine. I picked up this Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser which not only feels great on the skin, but smells like a field of tangerines. Immediately following cleansing, I use this exfoliator while still in the shower (less mess).
Immediately After Shower
As soon as I get out of the shower, I like to put collagen eye patches under my eyes – I like to believe it helps keep the scary puffy bags away. Whether it actually works or not, it gives me peace of mind that I’m doing something about it. Since there’s no evidence of it working, this is where I cheap out, and I order these collagen gold eye patches from Amazon – looks shady, I know, but I have a hunch they actually work. This is my opportunity to pick out an outfit and pack my purse if I’m heading out, while I leave them on for 10 minutes.
If I have some breakouts, I also use The Ordinary’s Salicylic Solution on those little buggers. If I feel like I’m prone to a breakout, I’ll rub a couple drops of the solution across my entire forehead (where I’m most prone).
10-15 Minutes After Shower
After taking off the eye patches, I use my trusty L’Occitane 5% Shea Face Cream to moisturize. I’ve sworn by this face cream for a few years now, and there’s no looking back. It truly is an all-season product, as it’s perfect for both the dry winter months, and post day in the sun in the summer (or on vacation).
Once my make-up is applied (a topic for another day) I like to spritz my face with Caudalie’s beauty elixir spray (also found in the aforementioned value set), and of course, the final touch, my Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet perfume.
