If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you may have noticed that as soon as exams ended I took off for Dominican Republic to spend a week taking in the sun on the shore of Bavaro Beach. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to collaborate with Paige Denim, and get to take some new pieces of high-quality denim on my trip.
And the best part? I could alternate the uses for each piece as well. Had I chosen to pack minimal for the trip (who am I kidding), I would have been just fine with solely those three bottoms.
You may ask yourself, what differentiates a $200 pair of jeans from a “fast-fashion” pair of jeans for a tenth of the price? The answer: quality and commitment. Paige jeans are made in the U.S. in the heart of her hometown Los Angeles, and it feels good to know exactly under what conditions some of my clothes are made.
I’m a strong believer of investing in my wardrobe. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: in the wise words of my mother, “we are not rich enough to buy cheap things.” Long gone are the days of H&M/Zara/Forever21 shopping sprees, and now that same money is invested into higher quality pieces. I’m thankful to have had this opportunity to add three more investable pieces into my closet.
Though the vacation is now far behind (silently crying), I’m looking forward to bringing all these pieces into my everyday wardrobe. Paige Denim’s hashtag, #LIVEINIT, is really fitting. Can’t wait to share future outfits with you guys, as well as detailed descriptions of each individual piece!
